Happy New Year to all my readers!!
I apologize for the lack of a blog for the last 2 weeks. It’s a busy season and between working, taking care of some minor health issues and preparing for my trip to Ontario over Christmas I had to let a few things temporarily slide.
I hope that all of you have found a way to ring in the new year, perhaps look back at and evaluate 2013, while making goals and plans for this new year of opportunity in a joyous and exciting way. I certainly have. It was funny, I hadn’t actually made any or thought about any and then when I woke up this morning I had about 4-5 of them pop into my head. Lol! Obviously my subconscious was working away at them.
My goals include doing some new things with this blog and my website, as well as more personal goals. That being said this blog and what I do here is pretty personal for me. I love sharing knowledge and helping people. It’s a huge part of who I am.
I want to share a couple of things with all of you today:
Found this on Facebook and thought it was great. I actually wrote it in the front on my 2014 journal.
“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called OPPORTUNITY and its first chapter is called NEW YEARS DAY.” *Edith Lovejoy Pierce*
It’s a brand new year, full of brand new opportunities for growth and change. For creation and success! What are you doing to make it so for you? When setting goal it’s important to be SMART about them. This acronym means:
S- specific. The more specific you get with your goals the more likely you are to achieve them. It’s not enough to say “I want to lose weight”.
M- measureable. How will you know if you’re heading in the right direction? If you’ve achieved your goal? Will it be a number on the scale? A dollar figure? Or something else?
A- achievable. Your goals have to be realistic.
R- relevant. Are they relevant to to and your life? To you and your dreams? Or are you doing it for someone else, or some reason that doesn’t really resonate with you?
T- time bound. There must be time limit set for the goal. It might be 3 months, it might be 3 years but it must be set. It can be broken down into smaller chunks of time and smaller steps to get there- in fact this is a great idea, but either way it must be connected to a time/date for it to be accomplished.
And one last thing I’m going to leave you with. With a new year and new goals one thing I am doing is starting with a 3 day cleanse to give my body the opportunity to renew, refresh and start clean for this year. I am following this cleanse> http://www.foodmatters.tv/detox. I’m going grocery shopping shortly to get the items required and plan on doing it over the weekend (Jan. 3-5) as designed.
I wish all of you a wonderful 2014 and the same for the future. I wish that good fortune, joy, prosperity and most of all good health finds you. You can create it all for yourself, truly you can!
